In eastern Kentucky the name Kozee is quite prevalent. One of the Kozee family, William C. Kozee wrote "Early Families of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky - and their descendants" (Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc. 1979). This book might offer some information as well as an explanation of how the name may have changed during the migration west (if indeed this is the same family).
