I am researching the Buchanan, White, Newland and Tullis. This family is too much to go into detail on but they are considered to be part of the first families in Boistfort. George Buchanan (Grandpa) married to Catherine Hittle. Then there is Elizabeth Buchanan married to Charles White. Elizabeth was the first white woman to be at Boistfort. John Buchanan owned a stage coach stop plus he owned many businesses on Tower Avenue. Then there is Amos Tullis married to Catherine Buchanan. Amos was mayor of Centralia at one time in the 1880's. Mary Buchanan married Thompson Newland. Mary was the first public school teacher and Thompson Newland was also superintendant of the school system. George Buchanan (Grandpa) was also superintendant at one time. Plus there is Winfield and James. James ended up in Oregon from the Oregon trail and some years later Winfield moved from Washington to Oregon. Sometimes you will see a mention of Samuel Buchanan, that is George W. Buchanan (Grandpa) brother. And the list goes on and on... I have many of the items listed in books and such and the newspaper abstracts. I am still looking for information in "odd" places. Thanks. Michelle 4th great granddaughter of George and Catherine Buchanan.
