When I was a little boy at Morton, WA (in the 1930's) I remember the "Vet. Day" parades and at the front carrying the flag would be a small number of old men, Veterans of the Civil War. All were in Gray. I guess they soon died out, but I remember them well. Most had long gray beards. (There weren't more than 5 or 6) My memory fails me on the number. Rodney D. Veitschegger
