Hello all, The name Hopgood is a very, very old name from England. Here are the variations that I know of. Hobgood, Hapgood, Hogood, Haygood, (you get the idea). My brother (half) is a Hobgood. He has been interested in the surname for a very long time and since I'm a genealogist, I have kept my eye open for information on the Hobgood surname. Perhaps two years ago, the New England Historical and Gen Soc published in their journal a family history on the name. Look up Shadrack Hobgood (or it is some variation). It might have been 96, 97, or 98. I have other information, too, but I think I should give you my brother's email and you can write him. He can fill you in on what he knows (memory like a steel trap). He knows where a number of Hobgood researchers are. The other thing I can tell you is that the name is prolific in Kentucky. There are Hobgood cemeteries (2) and I believe there is a town by the same name. My brother can tell you all. Steve Hobgood Hobgood@meta-usa.com -------------- Andrea D.
