I have the following items I came up with yesterday. A comical colored drawing by Wits (Watts?) with the wording on the front :A Scene along the road To Cowlitz Praire" On the back someone has handwritten "1916 at S.L. Herrens store." I scanned it in gray because I have never figured out to scan color and have it come out the right color! (Will send attachment) There is also a different comical postcard (back says the same 1916 at S.L. Herrens store" but doesn' say Cowlitz Prairie. also....... Have a write up April 10, 1914 of a flag observance and new pole by the Bennett School District 119 (Ethel) and it names all those participating including the surnames, Blair, Canterbury, Zandecki, Wright, Mulchi,Burchett, Gore, Powell, Brooks, Christian, Kerr, Todd, and King. and......... a Onalaska Grade School Program for March 11, 1932 listing all those involved and a Grade School program dated Dec.4th 1931 listing all those involved, and a Onalaska Union High School bulletin for the graduating class of 1931, dated Thursday May 28th...(boy don't you wish you could still get out school in May? and not go back until after Sept.?) If you are interested in any of these please let me know! John Blair
The family of Adam Bremer (born around 1863) should be in the settlement of Bremer near Morton. The wife is named Lulu. He should have at least one child named Harvey. I'd like to know if he had any step children living with them and what their names are. If you can look in the 1900 census, please look for Adam Bremer (the father, born 1829), as well as the son mentioned above. Thanks for your help. Does anyone have any class photos in the Napavine area in the late 1800's (1880 or later)? If anyone would like a copy, I have one from Agate School in Chehalis taken at about 1912. Donna DeLeon
Dear all, I know I have a fascination with old pictures, and we've had 2 of a lady(pre 1923) with a veil over her face in Lewis Co. with a name on the back and that she was a friend of Louisa Blair (wife of Jacob F.). I ran a query over 8 months ago and just recently rec'd a reply and sent the photos via attachment...This was quite a heart rendering letter, but it's awesome to help someone, so I will make copies of these pictures and give to the lady! His name was Joseph Maley by the way. thank you, Boyd Lopez

Many months ago, I put a query on the Lewis Co. Page. I have many many old pictures of my Great grandma Louisa Blair of Toledo. Two pictures (pre 1923) were of a lady with a veil over her face. All we ever knew was that this was a friend of Grandma's. I recently rec'd a reply and the whole story of this tragic veil. But I am highly encouraged and will make pictures of the lady for the relative who contacted me!....Just was great to help someone find a picture and hear part of a story. These people had never seen a picture of this aunt of theirs! If anyone has info on the name Radamaker or Radmaker of Boistfort/LostValley areas, please contact me. John Blair/Listowner

Hi Mary, I grew up in Centralia. The hill just east of downtown Centralia is called Seminary Hill. There is (was) a large building which was an armory when I lived there. Hi Mary, I'm not researching these names, BUT, I went to school with a girl named Bonnie Housert in Yakima , Wash in late 1930's after 1936 and or in early 1940's up to 1944. It may have been Jefferson School on So. 10th. I also lived in Okanogan Co in 1940's abt 1943 spring on and there was ans still is a very small town up close to the Canadian bOrder between Tonasket and Oroville west of Ellisford. The 2 first towns listed were small and still small but much bigger than in 1940's. The Ellisford is a blink and you miss town. Loomis, is a spot in the road or abt end of road west of Ellisford. I bekieve it was named after some early settlers there before 1900. The houser girl will probably be on 1930 and if not 1940 censues when they are out. May be able to put a message on Wa. state site or WaYakima Co sites. Check out rootsweb for site link's. Correction!.......George Blair was born Aug 26th, 1892 and died April 24th, 1975....Thanks Cousin Diane!...must be getting late! :)
Any one visiting the Paper office or the museum? I would like to find the obituary for a man who died on April 24th, 1975 named George Blair...(No, he wasn't any of the BLAIR relatives!)....he was born in Scotland and my father (George Blair) and I visited him once or twice before he died. He lived just up towards Mary's Corner from the intersection of Jackson Hwy. and 508. No information on him except Brown Mortuary Services and that he was born Aug 26th, 1975. Would like to get the obit from the paper if anyone could fit in for me? Thanks John Blair
Looking for information on a Seminary that according to my 82 yr old uncle was located somewhere near Chehalis and both my grandparents attended once up a time-probably in the early 1900s, probably before 1909 when they were married. I know from my work at the post office that I have seen address on Seminary Road or something like in the Lewis County area, but don't see the images long enough to really get a good idea of where it might be. Any one out there know of this? I am researching the names CONN, LOOMIS and BROWN. Also the names HOUSER, SKLENAR, CHOVITEK Thank you in advance for your responses. Mary Houser mhouser3@msn.com
