I tend to forget that I am subscribed to this list as it`s generally very quiet. So, shamed as I am by all you scribes emerging from the woodwork I will now endeavour to stick some names up. The search starts with Edward ROBERTS b 1763, Llanymynech married Elisabeth JONES b 1764 from Llanrhaedr ym Mochnant. (Her parents are Thomas and Catherine JONES) and some time after marriage they moved to Llanyblodwel where the action starts. Catherine b 1795, Anne b 1798, Edward b 1801, John b 1807. Edward ROBERTS is the gggrandfather 1801-1878 Llanyblodwel. He married Hannah LEWIS 1808-1892 from West Felton, (parents John and Mary LEWIS).They succesfully reared 11 out of 12 children: John 1834-1909 married Catherine OWEN 1856-1926 from LLangyniew (parents John and Jane OWEN nee JONES) farmed at Adeney Manor, Edgmond SAL, Edward 1834 tenant farmer/miller at Llwyntidman, Llanymynech in 1881, lost him after then. Mary Hannah 1837-1911 married William WHITFIELD and farmed at Abertanat Hall, Llanyblodwel. Thomas 1841-1919 married Hannah Maria Jones from Llanfechain(previous marriage WILLIAMS) He move with his family to Llanystumdwy in 1889. Catherine Elisabeth 1843-1927. Spinster schoolteacher at Llanymynech. Sarah Jane b 1845 married Richard WALL. Anne 1846-1936 spinster (stayed at home to look after her mam, bless her) William b 1848 went to London to seek his fortune. Was a drapers assistant in 1881! I don`t think he made the big time! James b 1851 married Anne OWEN 1850-1928 from Llangyniew (Catherine OWEN`s sister). Twins Maria and Martha b 1853. Maria married Robert EDWARDS, Martha remained a spinster.All the above were born Llansanfraidd ym Mechain, Mont. Thomas ROBERTS is the ggrandfather, and married to Hannah Maria. They move with their family to Llanystumdwy in 1889 but left Edward ROBERTS b 1874 and Thomas W. ROBERTS b 1868 behind in or around Llansanfraidd (they can`t be found in the 1891 census for the area so must have moved on) and I am desperately looking for them. Edward was born in Llanymynech and Thomas W. (His middle name could possibly be either Wynn or Walter) was born in Oswestry. Does anyone recognise any of my ancestors please?
