Barnes, the hotel keeper on Public Square, who died on Thursday, as noted in yesterday's RECORD [only a small notation], was born in Swansea, Wales, on July 25, 1852, and came to America twenty-four years ago where he has resided ever since and came to Wilkes-Barre five years ago. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Thomas and Stephen Barnes and Mrs. Thomas Easen [?] of Plymouth and Mrs. Robert Race of Gregsville, NY. The funeral will take place on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. from his late residence when his remains will be laid to rest in the Hollenback Cemetery."
