"AN AGED LADY DEAD "Mrs. Sarah Edwards relict of the late Rev. Charles W. Edwards, died at her home in Edwardsville at 1:40 a.m. yesterday, aged 71 years and 7 months. Deceased was a daughter of Thomas and Jane Allcock of Tredegar, South Wales, where her father was one of the pioneers of the iron industry and was at the time of his death master of the largest iron works in Tredegar. "Deceased came to this country in 1853, her husband having preceded her two years. He died in 1874 and was buried in Forty-Fort Cemetery. Three years later she suffered the loss through death of her son, Charles W. Edwards, Jr., who also was interred in Forty-Fort Cemetery. .. There are left of her immediate family to mourn her loss: Thomas A. Edwards, postmaster of Edwardsville; Mrs. Morgan P. Daniels of Scranton; Mrs. James P. Davies of Kingston; Daniel S. Edwards, chief of the Edwardsville fire department; George W. Edwards, foreman of breaker No. 2, Kingston Coal Co.; and James D. Edwards, paymaster for the same company."
