WILLIAMS "At his residence in Edwardsville yesterday forenoon one of the well known Welsh poets, Tegynys, died of a complication of diseases, from which he had been a patient sufferer for over eight months. He was born at Brynaman, county of Carmarthen, South Wales, January, 1846, and he would have been 48 years old next January. He was a faithful member and a trustee of Welsh Congregational Church and an intimate friend of Rev. Dr. Edwards. He frequently won prizes for poetic compositions in the eisteddfods, and was an efficient teacher in the Sunday school. He lives a widow, after a happy union of less than six years, and three children with his first wife, William G., who is a student at Wyoming Seminary, Mrs. Thomas Martin of Edwardsville and Olwen, a child of 10 years. His funeral will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at the Welsh Congregational Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Dr. Edwards will officiate. Interment at Forty Fort under the auspices of the lodges to which he belonged."
