"LEAVES A LARGE FAMILY "Mrs. David J. Williams of Plymouth Dead - Has Been the Mother of Twenty-One Children. "Mrs. David J. Williams died at the home of her son, Joshua D. Williams, on Gaylor avenue in Plymouth on Sunday night of pleurisy, aged 75 years and 9 days. She was the mother of twenty-one children, thirteen of whom survive her, viz: Mrs. John Evans, Plymouth; David D. and John D. Williams, Danville; Rev. William D. Williams, Pottsville; Mrs. John Edwards and Mrs. Lewis D. Williams, Plymouth; Mrs. Rev. D.L. Davis, Edwardsville; Mrs. Thomas and Ebenezer D. Williams, Williamstown; Mrs. Rev. Thomas Williams, Bangor, Maine; Mrs. Thomas B. Lewis, Plymouth; Mrs. James J. Thomas, Wilkes-Barre; Joshua D. Williams, Plymouth. "Mrs. Williams was born in South Wales and came to this country in 1842, locating in Danville. In 1869 the family removed to Plymouth. Her husband, David J. Williams was known as "The Welsh Patriarch," and was the first to establish a Welsh Presbyterian Church in Danville. At the bedside of Mrs. Williams when she passed away were thirty-one members of the family. With her children and their issues the total number of this remarkably large family numbers 114 souls. One of the daughters, Sarah, is the wife of alderman James J. Thomas of this city. The funeral will take place on Thursday morning from the Welsh Baptist Church, Rev. Hugh Davis of Scranton officiating. The remains will be taken to Danville for burial."
