Hello! I am a new member to your list, looking for some Welsch history that might aid my genealogical search. I am looking for ANY information on the Anabaptist movement in Wales in the 1715-1717 time frame. I have learned that there was a large emmigration from Wales in the 1680's to America, on account of persecution, but this is too early. ALSO any other interesting or important facts about this short time period that may help would be appreciated! My immigrant ancestor to America was Samuel Thomson, born in 1691. It is reported, although not confirmed, born in Ayrshire, Scotland. In 1715, he reportedly left Scotland for Wales, for fear of persecution as an Anabaptist. In 1717, he supposedly came to America (not sure where) but settled eventually in Virginia. His name has never been found on any ship registers. To my knowledge, he would not have been married at this time. Any help is appreciated! Karl Indiana, USA
