Hi, I am looking for information on my wife's grandfather, John Prothero. Born in Wales, possibly Cardiff area, est 1870's, possibly 1860's. Left home at about 15, to go to sea. Seems to have joined the Merchant Navy, and served in the Boxer rebellion. Moved to Australia, by early 1900's. Dropped 'e' from "Protheroe" name. Married Eva Mary Jane Myers, in 1902, from Broulee area, south cost of NSW. John died @ Merrylands, NSW in 1948 Any information or other avenues of enquiry would be appreciated.
