"David Thomas, who was on Monday elected Plymouth's civil engineer, is a graduate of Stevenson's International Correspondence School. He recently passed a successful examination in geometry, trigonometry, railroad surveying, drawing, land surveying and mapping. He has been a resident of Plymouth for several years and secured his first diploma from the Lloyd Mining School at Merthyr Tydvil, Wales. He is a son of David Thomas of the Rhos Farm, Gellygaer, Wales, who is superintendent of the Gelfach collieries, Rhymney Valley. He is one of the most popular young men in Plymouth.
