(Instead of submitting this to any specific Mailing List, I am submitting it to the General list in the hopes that it will be seen by a more diverse group.) "Catherine, wife of D.M. Davis, formerly proprietor of the Eagle Hotel in Scranton, died at her residence in Hyde Park on Saturday evening. During her long period of illness she displayed wonderful fortitude, and death came peaceably. She was born in Dowlais, Wales on March 17, 1844, and came to this country with her husband in 1863, locating at Pittston, where they remained five years. They subsequently moved to Taylor and then to Scranton, where they have lived during the past fourteen years. She was a devout member of the Taylor Baptist Church. Her husband and a daughter, Louisa, survive her." Nancy Cook Pasadena, MD, USA
