(Instead of submitting this to any specific Mailing List, I am submitting it to the General list in the hopes that it will be seen by a more diverse group.) "Thomas B. Davis, an old resident of Laurel Run, died on Sunday morning about 2 o'clock of a complication of diseases. Deceased was 67 years of age, and was born in Bleanovon, Wales, Sept. 30, 1829, where he was raised and attained his majority. He then went to a town called Tredegar, in Wales, at which place he was married on the 5th of May, 1850. He came to this country in May, 1865, and settled at Jeanesville, Luzerne County, for two years. He then went to Tresckow, and resided there thirteen years. He then came to Laurel Run, and has resided there about sixteen years. Deceased was in his younger days employed as a pump runner but later worked as tracklayer. He has worked for the Red Ash Coal Co. for a number of years and has served the borough as road commissioner for about five years. His last place of employment was on the mountain for Frank Phelps, cleaning and beautifying the grounds around his summer residence. Mr. Davis was a quiet and kind citizen and a help to the community. He leaves a wife and one son and daughter, Thomas E. Davis, tracklayer in the Empire, and Mrs. Sarah Ann Davis, married to William T. Davis, tracklayer in the Red Ash colleries. Services will be held at the house on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock p.m. Rev. H.G. Russell will officiate. Interment will be in Hollenback cemetery." Nancy Cook Pasadena, MD, USA
