Hello, all ... I have just joined this list and would like to cast my bread upon the waters, so to speak ... I am trying to trace my g-g-grandfather's brother, George LLOYD. (I've accounted for the vitals on my g-g-grandfather, Evan LLOYD, b. ca. 1799, although any links/info there would be deeply appreciated!!) Both brothers were born in Llanelli Parish in Breconshire, and moved to Aberystruth Parish in Monmouthshire as children. Their parents were Evan LLOYD and Elizabeth LEWIS. Evan married Mary SMITH (and his older sister, Ann, married Benjamin SMITH, who was possibly Mary's brother). I can't find a marriage or burial record for George, the fourth child, so don't know where he ended up. Evan lived in Nantyglo and Cwm Celyn before emigrating to Pennsylvania in 1841. The family men were all miners. Other siblings were: Thomas LEWIS/LLOYD (base born in 1795), who married Anne THOMAS. Richard LLOYD, (b? -- probably the 5th child) married Mary GILBERT, John LLOYD, (b 1806), married ?? Mary LLOYD, b. 1808, married Denis JAMES and Seth LLOYD, b. 1810, married?? If anybody knows anything about the fates of George, John or Seth, I would be very grateful. Right now, I'm concentrating on George. Thank you!! Beth in Los Angeles, CA, USA
