Thomas of East Market street, who died of typhoid fever yesterday, was one of the best known residents of the Heights, coming there twenty years ago from Australia, where he had been engaged in gold mining. Mr. Thomas was a stalwart Republican, and a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church. He has been twice married, and leaves a wife and son. He was born on Pencornhwrdd farm, Rhandirmwyr, Wales, and was 56 years of age. He is a brother of David W. Thomas of South Meade street. "The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon. Rev. J.O.
