"The Randolph (Wisconsin) Reveille gives a column account of the death of William J. Jones, who died October 13, after an illness of eighteen months of consumption. He was born in North Wales, but was a resident of Wilkes-Barre for a number of years, and was engaged as a coal miner. When his health failed he went to Wisconsin to regain it. He returned to this city, and soon after again went to Wisconsin, and in 1878 he was united in marriage. He was married to Miss Jane D. Roberts, daughter of a wealthy farmer, who resided five miles from Randolph, Wis. "Deceased was 48 years of age, and was a man of sterling character. He called his family several times to his bedside in his last hours, and asked each to live a Christian life. Deceased was a brother of Mrs. John T. Griffiths, widow of the late ex-County Treasurer John T. Griffiths of this city. He is known and respected by hundreds of acquaintances which he made when a resident of this city. He left a wife and four small children. The funeral took place on Oct. 15. Rev. J.R. Daniel, assisted by Rev. D.R. Jones of Blaenyeal, Rev. G. Morgan of Cambra, and Rev. R.F. Jones of Oshkosh officiated." Nancy Cook ncook@heery.com Pasadena, MD, USA
