Davis, who has been a resident of the Heights for sixteen years, died on Friday night, aged 51 years, after months of suffering from the effects of an accident he met with in the mines. He has been engaged as a rock miner for many years, and for a number of years has been engaged with Messrs. Davey & Wasley in sinking shafts for the L&W-B Coal Co. and the D&H Coal Co. He was an upright, honest citizen and was at all times ready to help his fellow men. He was a member of the Welsh Presbyterian Church and unless sickness prevented him was always in the working rank. He leaves a wife and five children - John H. Davis, Jr., Lizzie, Jane, Thomas, Richard, and Mary [that's six names], all adults. He was a native of North Wales. "The funeral will take place to-day Tuesday. Rev. J.O. Jones will officiate. Interment in Hollenback Cemetery." Nancy Cook Pasadena, MD, USA
