Hi Ron, The name Lewis Lewis jumped out at me as it occurs in my extended Lewis family of Llanafan Fawr in Breconshire. Unfortunately the date for James' birth does no tie in. The one I have was born in 1777 and was the son of Lewis Simon Lewis and Sarah Davies. This Lewis is the brother to my 4 x great grandfather David Lewis. He died in 1791 so it does seem impossible that he is your James' father although it is interesting to see that one of James' children was Lewis and another Sarah. This Lewis family of mine was very notorious in the area of Llanafan Fawr and Lewis Lewis and his son Lewis Lewis were the most infamous of the lot.
