Hi all, I have had many messages asking both about the future of Channel 5 Text and about Tree Tops. Firstly Tree Tops has NOT closed down. All messages/queries sent will appear on the television screen on Sky News Text. Channel 5 at present have a skeleton text service showing due to the fact that it is open for tenders to decide on a new owner of this service. Therefore at the moment the messages are not being shown on Channel 5 text. When the new owners are announced I will be speaking to them about returning Tree Tops to their text service. Until then, on a temporary basis, I am willing to put a copy of the screened messages onto the Tree Tops News Mailing List. These will be the edited version of the messages sent to Tree Tops. This would be very advantageous to everybody as it will enable those in other countries to see what is shown on the television screen. If anybody has any objections then do please say so. I WILL delete all postal addresses before posting them to the Mailing List. Obviously there will be some which have been sent to me by people not on e-mail. If anyone wishes to contact one of these submitters, then please write to me off list for the postal address, quoting the reference number. Putting the messages on this way, without addresses, you may feel that I have edited the message too harshly. Eight lines are allowed on screen and unfortunately many peoples addresses take up a lot of the allocated space. All I ask is that you please respect my copyright and DO NOT forward a copy of any of these messages to any other mailing list or place them on any web site.
