Hi I am trying to locate a place named "Black Springs" which could be in Birmingham, Warwickshire or Wales. My ancestor Edward HUGHES was sent on an all expenses paid holiday to Australia in 1820. The house he built in New South Wales, Australia he named 'Black Springs" apparently after the area of his birth. Edward was tried at the Warwick Assizes and gave his native place as Birmingham but there is also indication that he was actually from Wales. I am aware that both Birmingham and, more particularly, Wales, are very large areas but until I find Edwards birth place I cannot progress on this branch any further. I dont have Edwards parents names. If anybody knows of a Black Springs in Birmingham or Wales - town, village, farm, anything at all - I would love to hear from you.
