This is a general list and an excellent starting place for those who are uncertain about Welsh Genealogy and Geography and for those who don't know where in Wales their ancestors came from. It is also a good resource for discussions about "cross boundary" issues and those things that are common to all Welsh Family Historians. There are two other all-Wales lists GWREIDDIAU-L@rootsweb.com which exchanges messages through the Welsh language and WALES-LOCAL-HISTORY@rootsweb.com which, as the name suggests, discusses different aspects of Welsh and local history. The last time I counted, there were about 25 locality based lists (see: http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/WLS/ for a complete index) and a large number of lists dealing with surnames which occur in Wales and occupations, pastimes and experiences which are common to Wales, England and other countries. If you are unsure which list you want, post a question to this list along the lines of "I am trying to find my grandfather from ******* who worked as a ******. Which list might prove most helpful in finding him?" I'm sure we would all be willing to try and point you in the right direction regards Alwyn
