A copy of the document, is just that, a copy, which is probably typed or written out by some other person later on, and may therefore contain mistakes. As for example a marriage certificate and a copy of same for one of my rels. The copy circa 1919 said for one of the parties, born in Denbin, whereas the original certificate 1897 said Denbighshire, Wales. For the other party the copy said born in Scotland, but the original certificate said, born in Portland, Victoria. These are massive errors, yet they continuously occur. BE WARNED! 1. [WALES-GEN] CHRISTOE'S
    2. Dena/Dick Iverson
    3. Hello, I am seeking information on the surname of CHRISTOE, CHRISTOW, CHRISTO, or CRISTO. Iam especially looking for my gr.gr.gr.grandfather, JAMES CHRISTOE, b: about 1795. He was a miner. He married in MARY ROWSE, 13 March 1819 in St. Austell, Cornwall. They had one known son, WILLIAM JOHN, b: about 1820, the place of his birth is unknown. No trace of JAMES CHRISTOE or his family, until 1840 when Mary dies in St. Austell, and WILLIAM is married there in 1842. Believe this family lived somewhere other than Cornwall for a number of years, and MARY and son WILLIAM returned to Cornwall after the death of JAMES. Will appreciate hearing from anyone who might have knowledge on my CHRISTOE family. Thank You, Dena Cofer Iverson Vancouver, Washington USA

    1. [WALES-GEN] Deputy/Dupaty search
    2. Gwen Coleman
    3. I am the descendant of SYLVESTER DEPUTY and would appreciate any help or advice in tracing the whereabouts of this family in Wales. The research of many persons agree that Sylvester was born in Wales, some saying that there was also an elder Sylvester born in Wales in the year 1637 and a son, also named Sylvester born in Wales about 1685 to 1697. Family legend also state that this family were French Huguenots who fled their homeland and settled in Wales where they adopted the name DUPATY then changed the name to DEPUTY after immigrating to the USA about 1695 to 1710. Name might have originally been DuPuy. To my knowledge no one on this side of the Atlantic has ever found a passenger record or other document to verify the exact date of their arrival. Would like to know of records in Wales that might be of help and wonder if there are volunteers who might have access to these records and be willing to help. By the way, I had occasion to visit briefly in your beautiful country and hope to someday be able to return for a more extensive visit. Gwen Coleman Texas, USA
