    2. John Richards
    3. Hello, I am stuck with tracing my Great Uncle who was born 1856 Monkton, (probably St Twynnells) Pembrokeshire. He was there in 1871 and in 1881 at 109 Lots Road, London (Fulham/Chelsea). Gt. Uncle Joseph appears to have followed his older brother John Duggan RICHARDS (my grandfather) to be his Best Man in 1878. None of my relatives has any knowledge of his whereabouts after the 1881 census. Has anyone got any connection with him? I would be very glad for any help before it's too late!! John Richards. 2. Richard & Anita McKinney
    3. I thought that perhaps people living on the US west coast, primaraily in Oregon might be interested in an antique shop that is located in Gearhart/Seaside, Oregon. The woman who owns it deals primarily in antiques that she buys in Northern Wales. I do not have any association with her. I just located it when driving down Hwy. 101 yesterday. She has some very interesting things. If anyone is interested, the name of her shop is the Red Barn Antiques. Anita McKinney Battle Ground, WA ramac@teleport.com

    1. [WALES-GEN] Quakers of Wales

    3. Does anyone have access to ship records or Quaker records in Wales? What ports would ships have sailed from? Seeking information on the Quaker religion in Wales, specifically those who migrated to the USA with William Penn in the period of 1680's. One being EVAN OLIVER of Glascombe who with his wife Jean and children David, Elizabeth, John, Hannah, Mary and Evan might have sailed on the ship LAMB, SUBMISSION or VINE. I am searching for my ancestor SYLVESTER DEPUTY who was possibly in this region during that time period and who also migrated to the Colonies settling on property that was a PENN land grant. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Gwen in Texas, USA

    2. Beth Lewis
    3. Hello from Ohio, I am trying to find information on a Lewis LEWIS, possibly Louis LEWIS, born 1841/1842 Wales or Elizabeth/Elisabeth LEWIS born 1846/1847 to the parents of David LEWIS and Margaret/Mary (maiden name Unknown). I have information that leads me to believe my LEWIS family may have been from the Glenmorganshire area. This is from a Naturalization Docket for a David LEWIS, which would be the right age for my David and the Year in which census documents say they arrived in US (1848). Possibly on the Ship SIDDONS from Liverpool to New York. David b. abt. 1811/1812 Margaret/Mary b. abt. 1812/1813 Thomas b. 20 Sep 1833 William b. abt. 1838 Lewis/Louis b. abt. 1841/1842 Elizabeth/Elisabeth b. abt. 1846/1847 All of these family members were born in Wales. Does anyone have ideas where I can get further information? I appreciate anything or any help I can get. Sincerely, Beth Lewis Forever Searching For My Past! 1. [WALES-GEN] INFO~ Inaugural Meeting
    2. List Admin
    3. Posted with the permission of the List Admin. Last week I wrote, that at the end of January 2002 the Anglo-Italian list was created as a discussion forum for those who are researching their Anglo-Italian Ancestry. (Anglo-Italian-L-request@rootsweb.com) and that through discussion on the list, it has become apparent that there is no formal Society available to researchers, and thus researching Anglo-Italian Ancestry can be rather isolating. It was felt that the long term aims would be to: 1. Form a Anglo-Italian Family History Society 2. To develop a web page for links and other useful bits of information. Both of these are to run along side the Anglo-Italian Mailing List and it is intended that this will be open to all those researching in this area, and it is hoped that those without Internet Access will also benefit. Over the last few days Elaine Collins and I have discussed having a meeting, and as a result Elaine has agreed to coordinate such an event. The date of the Inaugural Meeting of the Anglo-Italian Family History Society has been arranged. For further details please see the Web Page http://www.dreamwater.net/anglersrest/Italian.htm Please support this worthwhile project. 1. [WALES-GEN] Martha WILLIAMS b.1886-1890 Abergele
    2. Murray Jones
    3. Good Afternoon You may remember I was looking for the above from Abergele and her husband Harry BANNISTER. Well I found the marriage. Well I didn't it, someone else did with a shrewd piece of detective work. The marriage took place at Register Office in the Parish of Runcorn in the County of Chester in 1912 not 1911 and not in a church. [No small wonder Mavis and Molly didn't find it.] With this and other records I now have a spread in possible year of birth. The age on the marriage registration may have been padded a little, 26 in 1912 as opposed to 37 in 1927 on passenger list to Canada. As far as I know she is still from Abergele. The only glimmer of hope I have from all this is that her father is listed as David WILLIAMS, a new finding. I imagine David is just as frequently an occurring name as WILLIAMS. I know I've posted this request but perhaps there are some new list members or someone may have a new record or two in their possession. While some have already done some digging for me I would like to repost a request for a look at the 1891 census in and around Abergele for a Martha WILLIAMS, b 1886-1890, with father named David. Take care and have a good day. Murray Jones Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada PS To all those that have helped with this quest in the past, thanks again

    3. Good morning Margaret, Thanks for your contribution. I most certainly will have a browse through that BONDS site. I was not previously aware of its existence. At the moment I'm overdue for breakfast...slept in after keeping early morning hours. Please also see my response to Ruth. Hope your day has gone well. We finally have sunshine but it's most unseasonably cold. Hit -4C last night despite the flowers already in bloom. Normally we would be cutting the lawn and gardening by now. Vancouver Island had an unseasonal dump of snow Friday night. Keeps the family searchers indoors! :-) Thanks for your input. Regards Ron Davies Surrey, BC Canada

    2. Brian Harvey
    3. Hi Ron, Good morning from Tean! Have you tried the National Library of Wales website for Marriage Bonds, it is http://www.llgc.org.uk:81/index.htm I can't remember if I passed it on to you. I typed in the name Lewis and it came up with 10087 hits, just imagine what the number would be if you were looking for Jones. Don't panic!! It is easy to narrow down the search. You will want the period 1801-37 Dynion (male) for each of the Diocese. Look up James Lewis and see if you can find one marrying a Berry. You might just be lucky and find they weren't married by Banns so included in the list. Its a wonderful site for just browsing, I found one of my Hamer Wills listed so could send off for a copy. You never know what you might find.
