Searching for parents of Robert Jones who was born 31 Dec 1789. He married in Wigan, Lancashire, England, on 5 Jan 1807 to Alice Birchall who was born 25 Apr 1788. Several of their children were bp at St. Peters, Liverpool. I was told many years ago, before I even thought of genealogy, that one of my g.g's was from Wales. Since Robert was the one to come to the USA, I'm thinking it may have been him. Isn't it possible for him to have been born in a part of Wales fairly near the England boarder?? I am mostly homebound due to severe lung disease requiring oxygen, so can't get out to search at a FHL. Any assistance or suggestions are greatly appreciated! Barbara Jones Pulley North Carolina, USA

Searching for parents of Gladys Isaline Beresford b. May 12, 1885 in Wales. But on their daughter Gladys SS application it's spelled VyPond. Gladys immigrated to USA somewhere around 1899-1905 to VA and married William M. Monroe II in 1907. My grandfather said his grandmother Gladys never lost her welsh accent and that she came from royalty. I asked my mother if Gladys had any siblings, but she did not know. To Our Welsh Friends Please accept my deep sympathy upon the passing of your Queen Mother whom, I suspect and regardless of nationalism, was revered throughout Britain just as she was much loved throughout the Commonwealth and all Christian nations. Know she was much loved in Canada and we shall always be mindful of her visits and her warm smile. It was my privilege to see her in High Park, Toronto, in 1939 shortly before the onset of WW II. It was an event I have never forgotten. May God be with you all. Ron Davies Surrey, BC Canada

Hello, I am new to Wales searching and would appreciate any advice. I am looking for SHEARN info from Dist. of Pontypool, Co. of Monmouth, Wales (Abersychan Township). Last known date in Wales before the U.S. was the 1845 birth of Ann Shearn to Henry Shearn (b. in England) and Hannah Guilliford (b. in England). George, Henry and William were names of other children. The first record that I have in the U.S. was George's 1859 marriage. Would guess that they were coal miners since that's what they did upon arrival in OH. Thank you. Gale
Hello list Anyone see any connection with the following? Would be very glad to hear from you. RICHARDS, Joseph, mason, born circa 1827, St Twynnells, Pembrokeshire, brother of Thomas, Francis, Martin, and John RICHARDS. Joseph married Elizabeth DUGGAN, school mistress and nurse, born circa 1830,Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire. Children: Jane, born circa 1851, Monkton parish, Pembrokeshire; Sarah M., born circa 1851, Pembrokeshire; John Duggan (my gfather), born Apr 1, 1853, Monkton (later moved to London); Joseph, born circa 1856, Monkton. Living in Monkton at Orielton Mill (1851),East Orielton Cottage (1861), and Orielton Cottages (1871). Also seeking DUGGAN in South Pembrokeshire from 1750s to 1870s. Does anyone have any record of school teachers named Duggan in this area? As yet, I can find no trace of Jane, Sarah and Joseph nor parents in the 1881 census at least locally. My wife and I searched Haverfordwest 1881 last September, to no avail. In 1881 my Grandfather was recorded in Leeds although my G mother was in London They married in 1878. My main desire is to trace descendants of these 2 G.Aunts and my G.Uncle. Any DUGGAN descendants would be a wonderful added bonus, it being my second Christian name. John Richards.
