Hi Jan, Thanks for the information but may I expound on two points? Maybe you can clear these up for me if you would. 1) below from your email: > He married 2nd on 22 Dec 1825 in Monroe Co., Ga widow Rachel Griffin, b. abt > 1799; d. aft 1850, probably in Chickasaw Co., Ms. Rachel brought four > children to this marriage: Quintice T. C. Griffin, Eliza Griffin, Sarah > Griffin and Louisa Griffin. Benjamin and Rachel had two children: Archibald > and Benjamin, both born in Coweta Co., Ga I agree with the above except the word "widow". Was Rachel a widow.? According to a will by Joseph Griffin, d 1835, Chambers Co., Al it states: Heir: "Rachel Griffin m. Benj? Waldrup" and also "To Daughter, Rachel Waldrup" Did this really mean Daughter-in-Law? Was Rachel married to a Griffin or born a Griffin? I guess "married to Griffin is more logical but I can not find proof of any marriage prior to Benjamin for her. 2) below from your email: > 1825 Monroe Co., Ga Married Rachel Griffin on Dec. 22 > 1827 Gwinett Co., Ga Church records Ok, but the 1827 Gwinnett Co., Ga information from a book on Gwinnett County , GA history about Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church states that Alsey was with Benjamin in 1827. I believe this is what you are referencing in the 1827 line. I have not been able to get confirmation from the church about the dates, founders, etc. but the one source I did find says that Alsey was with Benjamin along with "Bodie". Something is amiss with these dates. I have not been able to find where or when Alsey/Aisley died and was buried but I feel the logical place to look first is in Gwinnett or Monroe Co., Ga and the 4 or 5 counties in between the two. I have not been able to find her at a Sweetwater Primitive Baptist Church where they were again suppose to be founding members in 1824. First place to look since Benjamin married the next year. Can you or anyone shed some light or thought on this? The elusive Benjamin with the wandering feet is a bugger to trace. I guess the next question is where is HE buried. Thanks to all. Karen
