Sandra, your Benjamin is NOT a member of the family of John Waldrop who died in 1794 in Newberry Co SC. I am a direct descendant of the above John Waldrop through his son, Ezekiel. Ezekiel Waldrop had children: Nancy, Tabitha, Mary, Permilia, Samuel, and Rebecca. A son named Charles dies as an infant. Ezekiel removed his family to Buncome CO NC before 1820. Nancy and Rebecca married and remained in what is now Henderson Co NC. Mary, Permilia and Tabithat removed to Greene Co TN. Samuel removed to Cherokee Co NC and finally to Monroe Co TN where he died. Paula, Several researchers have 'muddied the waters' on my Ezekiel Waldrop. It has been a difficult thing to try and convince others abt him For along time, several researchers had my Ezekiel as a son of John and his 1st wife, Millicent. They also had him listed as being born c 1748. The censuses support him being borned bwt 1755 - 1777. I always had that his mother was Tabitha. In John Waldrop's will (1794 Newberry Co SC Ezekiel, Hezekiah (it was Izakiah in will ), William, Isaac and John 'were to have my stock of horses after the widow or death of their mother, Tabe Waldop. In another sentence, he bequest his land to be divided among his 7 sons after the death of his wife, Tabe Waldrop. That list contained the names of his sons including Stephen and David. John Waldrop's will has a peculiar sentence abt a Robert in connection with my Ezekiel. Although many believe that Robert was a son of Ezekiel, I do not. My line has had a list passed down through several generations that named Ezekiel's children including infant Charles that died. Had Ezekiel had other children then I believe they would have been included. Ezekiel's heirs sold his land in Henderson Co NC in 1828. The heirs were: Nancy and husband Thomas Price, Tabitha and husband Thomas Adams, Mary and husband Dorcus Young, Samuel Waldrop, Permilia Short, and Rebecca and her husband Joseph Hardin Kuykendall. Had there been other children they would have been included on the papers related to the sale of the land. Those names are the same ones that have been passed down through my Waldrop relatives plus the infant Charles. Bettye " I do not mind being old.
