He was born March 16, 1921, in Tishomingo County to the late Mathier and Evie McMeans Waldrop. He was a brick mason and a farmer, and a member of the nondenominational faith. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and whittling on the court square. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Farris, Carol Wagie and Esther Wahlen officiating. Burial will be in the Valley of the Dogwood Cemetery. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Marie Waldrop of Corinth; a son, Shelby Wade Waldrop of Corinth; two daughters, Rose Knight and husband, James, and Geraldine Lee and husband, Danny, all of Corinth; two brothers, James Waldrop of Michie, Tenn., and Mack Ray Waldrop of Corinth; six grandchildren, Christy Hinton, Casey Waldrop, Jake Waldrop, Justin Knight, Jason Knight and Brandy Lee; a stepgranddaughter, Candi Lee Kinney; six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eugene Waldrop; a brother, Talmadge Waldrop; and a sister, Florene Waldrop. Pallbearers will be Casey Waldrop, Jake Waldrop, Justin Knight, Jason Knight, Greg Hinton and Steward McEwen.
