Linda, I had heard England was in the running. I thought about England when I heard about the meaning of the Waldrop name. It was first, so I have heard spelled Wardrope. Meaning keep of the wardrope. I thought of the Kings of England, then I thought there were Kings other places. In my Waldrop family there was talk of Scotand and Ireland. My sister said while visiting Scotland there was a Waldrop Pub on every corner. She also found a Castle named Waldrop where the Waldrop clans lived. I am just trying to get an idea where the majoriety of the Waldrops left from that came in thru North and South Carolina.
