Audrey, Joseph Waltrip of Amelia Co., Va was an immigrant Waltrip. I believe, but cannot prove, that he was the brother of James Waldrop and John Waldrop, Sr. whose information I just posted on this board. Joseph Waltrip, in his will, names one of his daughters MARY HUDSON. I do not know Hudson's given name or anything about Mary and her husbsnd except that Mary was born about est. 1746 in Amelia Co., Va. Her father, Joseph lived his entire life in Amelia County, but James and John Waldrop went to Pittsylvnia County about 1768. Since people back then tended to travel in groups, it is possible Mary and her husband accompained them. Understand that this is speculation on my part, and it is offered only as a guide for further research.
