    1. [WALDROP] The Waldrops in America 1699-1966 by James M. Waldrop
    2. Donna Waldrop Gandy
    3. I've seen reference to this while searching the archives of this list. I'm curious to know if this was a published work? I have a hand-typed book handed down to me through my grandfather Claud Waldrop. On the 1st page it says The Waldrops in America 1699-1966 by James M.Waldrop After that it has a handwritten address in Newark,Delaware and the date 1971 (this is not in my grandfather's handwriting) >From other notes and documents, I know this is someone my grandfather corresponded with. I guess what I'm wondering is if this material is considered to be accurate? I know much of the information it contains about my Grandfather's line does agree with information from family bibles and information my grandfather wrote prior to the 70s (there was a distinct difference in his handwriting as he got older). Also, thought this information might be useful to someone: Doing research on another line, I checked out an old set of books titled Kinfolks by William Curry Harllee it is a 4 volume set published between 1934-1937. They are out of print now, but I was able to get them from the University of Georgia Athens through an interlibrary loan. If anyone's search is centered in the low country of SC, they may be useful. The general index book contains 302 pages of surnames. Found this about Waldrop in them: Records of North Carolina Wills The following is from Grimes's Abstract of NC wills, 1663-1760. Devisors ore shown in capital letters. Devisees follow. Where two dates appear the first is date of will the second is date of probate, etc. (p.364) StUART,JOHN. New Hanover Precinet. June 27,1736. July 9,1736. Legatees: Sarah Smith, Henrietta Stuart (sister, of Inverness in North Britain). Executors: Thomas WARDROPER (Surveyor General of the province) and James Murray of Brunswick. The only other Waldrop reference is on page 1026 volume 2 George W. Fulmer married Amy Waldrop of Ga. They moved to Arkansas,New Edinburgh. children Frank, Lank, Henry,Ellen,Martha. The book doesn't give birth dates, but does mention that George served in the rev. war. Donna Waldrop Gandy --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo!
