Dear Jackie: It finally made the Dallas Morning News. Lawrence Herbert "Legs" Howell, was the son of Lawrence Theodore Howell and Mable Ester Jones, Eldon and Howard. Mable was the daughter of Dandridge Lafayette Jones and Nancy Eudora "Dora" Wilson. Dandridge was the son of Caleb Minton Jones and Narcissa C. Beeks. Caleb Minton Jones was the son of Sebern Jones and Mary Pitts. Mary Pitts was the daughter of Abner Pitts and Mary Waldrop of Laurens Dist., SC. Lawrence Herbert Howell HOWELL, LAWRENCE HERBERT, born May 28, 1922 in Monroe Co., Mississippi went to be with the Lord Jan. 11, 2003. Served in the Army Air Force Oct. 1942 to Oct. 1945. Was a long time resident of Carrollton and an Exxon Dealer in Dallas Co. for 25 years. Lawrence is survived by wife of 44 years Betty Jean, son Kerry, brother, Wilbur Theo of Aberdeen, Miss., and numerous other relatives and friends. Memorial Service to be held at DFW National Cemetery, 1 p.m. January 21, 2003.
