His father was Daniel Matthew "Mack" Jones Grandparents were Charles Matthew Jones b. 18 December 1840, Laurens Dist., SC, and Amarillo Mites Great grandparents were Sebern Jones and Mary Pitts 2 great grandparents were Abner Pitts and Mary Waldrop 3 great grandfather was James Waldrop of Newberry Dist. SC I visited with him on the phone 5 or 6 years ago. He was my mother's 2nd cousin. My grandmother, Adah Leuna Jones Garner, 1870 - 1961, used to correspond with his aunt, Bette Jones Nolan, 1885 - 1972. They were first cousins. Ralph Page Jones Sr. JONES, SR., RALPH PAGE, went home to be with his Lord, Saturday, July 12, 2003, after a brief illness. He was a native Dallasite, born August 1, 1906 to D. M. and Margaret Jones. He was a Godly, loyal, trustworthy and loving Christian gentleman - a splendid example to all who knew him. Mr. Jones was a member of the first graduating class of North Dallas High School and received his B.A. degree from Southern Methodist University. He was a charter member of the board of directors of Fair Park National Bank, owner of a commercial ice manufacturing business that had facilities in several Texas communities, including the Rio Grande Valley, owner of an insurance firm, and a real estate investor. Mr. Jones enjoyed fishing and hunting at Coon Creek Club, where he had been a member since 1929. He was also a member of the Dallas Country Club and the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs. He was an enthusiastic supporter of SMU, as well as various evangelical ministries, Baylor Hospital! and many other philanthropic causes. He was also an avid student of history, particularly Texas and Dallas history, and spent many pleasant hours studying historical books and documents. He was a member of the Dallas Historical Society. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, LaVergn German Jones, his children, Ralph and Sarah Jones, Nancy and Ted Raines, Alice Ann and Noel Hutcheson, his grandchildren Elizabeth, Trey and Ted Jones, Susan and Andy Nace, Charles Raines, Yvonne Hughes, Carolyn and Hayes Dent, Noel and Susan Hutcheson and his great-grandchildren. Andrew Nace, John Hampton, Justin and Bryson Hughes, Hayes III, Margaret and Kinkead Dent and Ashley Ann Hutcheson. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Jones at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 in the Cox Chapel of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W.
