    1. Re: [WALDROP] Benjamin Waldrup
    2. Karen, I erroneously made the assumption Rachel was a widow, even though my notes suggested otherwise. I believe the will you quoted answered a puzzle that has stumped me for some time. If Joseph Griffin refered in his will to his daughter as Rachel Griffin and Rachel Waldrup, then that means her maiden name must have been Griffin. This, then explains my notes, which are the basis of the puzzle. Solution to the puzzle: Rachel's four children which she brought to her marriage to Benjamin were illegitimate. Thank for the info. See notes below.. Jan Coweta Co.,Ga Estate Records proving children's status: (--jd) p. 159--"Rachel's Griffin's illegitimate..." 1829 p. 182--'Rachail (sic) Griffin's illegitimate children. To Benjamin Waldrup Guardian..." 1830 p. 215-- To "Benjamin Waldrup, guardian of the "illegitimate children of Rachel Griffin." 1833 p. 248--To "Benjamin Waldrup guardian for Rachel Griffin's illegitimate children." 1834 (Coweta Co., GA Estate Index 1827-1966.)
