    3. The Michael I was talking about was the first Michael. There was Richard Michael, before him Michael, and before him was the first Michael. Did he have brothers and sister, and did the send Michael. Joyce JanDawson@aol.com wrote: > Joyce, > No, it was Anderson MarionWaldrip. > > Far as I know, only Mary and Rachel were by Rich. 1. [WALDROP] Miscellaneous Records/Texas
    2. Terri Leinneweber
    3. I just returned from a trip home to Texas. While there, I was, of course, doing family research. I was not specifically looking for Waldrop info on this trip, but ran across the following miscellaneous records that might help someone: Although I seem to have skipped some of the information on this book, you should be able to find it if you need it. I hope. From the 1830 Citizens of Texas book, Austin's Register of Families, p. 47, under "Character Certificates and Certificates of Reception," Spanish Archives, General Land Office: San Augustine, August 18, 1835. James Bowlin - native of Tennessee, family of wife and one child, emigrated in 1826. San Augustine, August 18, 1835. Jeremiah Bowlin - Native of Virginia, wife and 2 children, emigrated in 1826. San Augustine, August 31, 1835. Mary Ann Bowlin - Native of Tennessee, emigrated April 1826, had family of two in number. Jeremiah Bowlin was the father of the Mary "Polly" Bowlin, married to Claiborne Parrish Waldrop. This is most probably this Jeremiah. I am not sure if this Mary Ann Bowlin is CP's wife. I have her variously listed as Mary W., and Mary Ann, and have her born in Kentucky in one reference. Help anyone? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Additionally, there was a probate case listed in "The State-wide Records Indexing and Inventory Program" publications: Index to Probate Cases of Texas, No. 210, Shelby County, November, 1881-August 11, 1939. This program was a WPA effort, published in April 1942. The Name of Deceased, Minor or Lunatic Filed Case No. Waldrop, Benjamin P.,D. Jr., Josephine B. and R.L., minors Nov. 18, 1889 07 I did not look up the actual record from the index. terri
