    3. If this is Andrew J. then he is not the son of Michael Waldrip and Rebecca Brown. their son was Andrew Marion. He was Cal's ancestor. I am going to try and find all of the males on the 1850 census to see when they were born. For sure the first two, Mary and Rebecca or Rachel, were just his daughters, not hers. I wonder how many others were not hers. There were about 11 or 12 kids. She lived with William, so we know he was, and my gggrandmother was the youngest, or next to the youngest. It will be interesting to see. Joyce bettyejps wrote: > Hi, I forgot to add that Andrew J. Waldrip entered as a private on 10 Aug 1861 He was wounded and captured at Spotsylvania, VA on 12 May, 1864. He was admitted to the USA General Hospital in Washington D. C. on 31 may, 1864. 3. The Tuscaloosa Plow Boys were organized during June 1861, While in camp, they came down with the measles. Because of this the regiment they were originally suppose to join left, and the only regiment left at the camp was the 38th Tennessee Regiment. This is the reason they were never lisited in an Alabama regiment. Roll of Co. G, 38th Tennessee Infantry Organized Tuscaloosa, Alabama 1861 I found a N. J. Waldrop---discharged in Corinth, Mississippi. If any one is looking for the Tuscaloosa Plow Boys , I have three pages of names. Sandra

    3. Yes he owned it. He had about 3000 acres I think, you can add it up. All of the foot notes are parcels that he owned at his death, listed in the box are the people that purchased the land after his death. THe year is the year in which Claibourne purchased or registered a deed. If you will also notice that there are only a 2-3 pieces that he owned prior to Mary's death. One of those peices is where the original Waldrop HOmeplce resides. We can prove that merely by the fact that he buried his wife in the family cemetery. So that would have to be land that he owned when his wife died. There is one parcel that has the San Miguel Bayou I think , and that is most likely where the home place was. But all the land was called Waldrop lands and still is today as far as I know. I have yet to find the cemetery, but I have not really given it my all in the search. Some day I Will.....Search....And Find IT! Ray On Sat, 23 Mar 2002 19:27:23 -0600 "Paula&Donny" <paulaj@crcom.net> writes: > Ray, did Claiborne P. Waldrop own this land?
