    2. Att: Willis Thanks for the great information. Now I can start the wheels turning. If I don't there will be one more Cemetery full of ancestors that bite the dust. As I start my contacting people who can help us, I will also contact , again, Dr. Arthur Woods of Waynesboro, Mississippi that owns the land in Washington County,Alabama where Alabama and Mississippi's State :Lines meet. Dr. Woods isa Dentist in Waynesboro, Mississippi Wayne/Green County, The Old Escatawpa Cemetery has at least two Confedederate Soldiers that I know of and a State Rep. that served in the Montgomery Capital from Washington County, Alabama, from 1868-1870. Hon. Joseph R. Waldrop is buried there and you can't get to his grave. His murder was written in the Mobile Register 1870. Thanks to all who are concerned and emailing me. I welcome any suggestions. 2. ATT: <A HREF="mailto:Bjmmlm@aol.com">Bjmmlm@aol.com</A> You are more than welcome. You never know when the one you have been researching for years might turn up in another's front yard. I researched my great grandpapa Joseph Ryan Waldrop death for years and years , then one night at our local Library I open a book in Library . Muscogee County Death 1832-1932 and looked for the name Waldrop , just to see if there had been Waldrops in my area, since my Waldrops settled in Mississippi and Alabama, sure enough, there was my great grandpapa's obit. Since my great grandpapa was ambushed and killed his obit was in the Mobile Register Newspaper and my Muscogee County had picked up the obit since he was State Rep. of Escatawpa, Alabama, Washington County. His death was ruled as a radical murder. He was ambushed shot in the chest with a shotgun at 12 yards. I didn't have the date to research the Mobile Register Newspaper, so I accidentally ran across the obit August 13, 1870 in my own home town Library in Columbus, Georgia. I also found out where one on his (JRW) brothers was born in the County next to mine, his brother was born outside of my back door in Harris County, Georgia. The Waldrop traveled thru Georgia in my surrounding Counties areas 1828 thru the early to mid 1830s. My point, never leave a book unopen. Our ancestors can show up anywhere. 1. [WALDROP] A new virus appeared on the Internet last night
    2. Ruth
    3. >From Ruth I have never sent out a virus warning before, but today I am sending this one to everyone in my address book because I am SURE this is not a hoax. My university sent me the following message from their computer gurus this evening. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************* A new virus known as W32.Sobig.A@mm has been sent to a number of campus e-mail accounts. The subject of an e-mail containing this virus will be one of the following: Re: Movies Re: Sample Re: Document Re: Here is that sample The message will also contain one of the following attachments: Movie_0074.mpeg.pif Document003.pif Untitled1.pif Sample.pif Additionally, the sender (from) address may be big@boss.com, however other source addresses may be possible. If you receive any of these messages, simply delete the message and DO NOT OPEN ANY OF THE ATTACHMENTS. This virus can infect all versions of Windows and results in the virus e-mailing itself to all addresses found in the files .html, .htm, .dbx and .wab. This virus was first reported to the Symantec Anti-virus Research Center late last night, but because updated virus definitions have not yet been released, even computers with Norton Anti-virus installed are at risk of infection. We have placed a rule on our mail server to hopefully prevent any further e-mail distribution of this virus and we will update to the newest virus definitions as soon as they are available from Symantec.

    1. Re: [WALDROP] Smith Co MS
    2. I suspect this quote came from one of those county history books, which are notoriously inaccurate--often based on faulty memories and myths. The reporter may even have mixed up families. The Waldrops were not Dutch or Deutsch (German) and as far as I know, and, yes, they were Baptists. I know of no other Waldrops in that area at that time. If there were others, they must not have been there very long.
