    2. Karen, I erroneously made the assumption Rachel was a widow, even though my notes suggested otherwise. I believe the will you quoted answered a puzzle that has stumped me for some time. If Joseph Griffin refered in his will to his daughter as Rachel Griffin and Rachel Waldrup, then that means her maiden name must have been Griffin. This, then explains my notes, which are the basis of the puzzle. Solution to the puzzle: Rachel's four children which she brought to her marriage to Benjamin were illegitimate. Thank for the info. See notes below.. Jan Coweta Co.,Ga Estate Records proving children's status: (--jd) p. 159--"Rachel's Griffin's illegitimate..." 1829 p. 182--'Rachail (sic) Griffin's illegitimate children. To Benjamin Waldrup Guardian..." 1830 p. 215-- To "Benjamin Waldrup, guardian of the "illegitimate children of Rachel Griffin." 1833 p. 248--To "Benjamin Waldrup guardian for Rachel Griffin's illegitimate children." 1834 (Coweta Co., GA Estate Index 1827-1966.) Estate Records 1828-1848, Will Bk. A, and 1829-1838, Annual Returns, p. 159: "Rachel Griffin's Illegitimates," March 2, 1829. 2. D Waldrup
    3. May 3, 2003 Does anyone know who the Mr. Waldrop/Waldrup is that married Mary (Mollie) Norman, b. 1832? He was born in SC but Mary and known children James Frank b. 1855, W. Pink b. 1857, and Arminta Rebecca b. 1859 were all born in NC. The family records say he had to leave NC because he was in trouble with the law and went to Alcorn Co., MS. His wife Mary remarried to Mathias RIchardson in 1866. Would appreciate any input on him. Thanks. Don Waldrup Nap12@peoplepc.com

    3. I'm new to this list but wonder if anyone has information on Dickerson Waldrop, b. abt. 1775 in NC, d. between 1850 & 1860 in Calloway Co., KY, married Nancy in 1798 in Laurens Co., SC. Nancy was born abt. 1780 in Laurens Co., SC and d. after 1830 in Henry Co., TN. I'm descended through one of their sons, Ewing Waldrop. I've been told that Dickerson was the son of John Thomas Waldrop and Elizabeth Nelson but I can't verify this. There are many in West KY & West TN from this Waldrop line. Thanks, Phyllis Canter Kelley

    2. Paula, I agree. Also have a picture taken from my grandmothers trunk. My grandmother's name Minnie Lee Masters Waldrop. There is a picture of a lady in her trunk taken about the mid 1840s, it tin typed. On the back is written Minnie Masters. Now, am I to assume this is her grandmother on her Paternal side. It's signed the same name as hers , Minnie and her maiden name, Masters. Could she be my grandmother's grandmother, we know who mother is, or could it be one of her Masters's aunt. I want to assume it is is her grandmother, but what If I enter it and it is one of her Master's Uncle's wives. My Aunt Louise said the picture of the lady is her mama's grandmother. Aunt Louise was 94 years old then. So what do I do, to keep it honest.......This possibly could be my grandmother's grandmother. My point, to write on back of every picture you have and intend to pass down, write how they are related to. I have another hundred year old picture. Saying,"This is my grandmother." But who is......This is My???? You all may not have these problems. But I do. Like I find Green Berry, Benjamin and Aisley Waldrop in Gewinnette County, Georgia. and along the with them Back to the drawing board. Thanks for all the help you all have givem me. Sandra "Bodi"...........Now who is Bodi ???

    3. Bettye, Thanks I want to have the most correct information I can get. I usually tend to believe the descendents of a person if there is not any proof that they are incorrect. As you stated the will does make it sound different. But alas on my other side of the family I have a gggrandfather that died and left a will in it he named his known children by his first wife, his children by his wife at time of his death and then says,"I leave to my son Carroll so in so." Now we don't have any idea who that son was nor who his mother was. So this proves that wills sometimes muddy the water too. 2. Betty, I'll check this out. My paternal gr gr gr grandparents who was found later to have the daughter Eliza everyone was researching. Come to find out she was the oldest child, they lost several children after her, the several years later my gr gr gr grandparents started having babies, one after another. By the time Eliza had gotten up some age the little ones were still little and she married and moved form home and was no longer on Census and was not mention in the family research. Then on day info was found and she was entered back in the family. I am not saying this is what happen to John's family. Like I have said, I am looking for the truth not just a line to be placed in. But, until I receive Paul's email, I didn't have Ezekiel in my line either. I just as soon having my line stop at Benjamin and not going back to John if he is not my line. Benjamin settled in Alabama, Green Berry settled in Mississippi. I will check where I receive the information ....Benjamin was the son of John.......How did you find your Ezekiel belong to John Waldrop? I'll do some back tracking. If there is anyone on the Waldrop List that can help me........Please do. Thanks, Sandra
