There may have been two John A. & Rebecca Wilsons in Kittitas Co. One of them wed Rebecca Watkins 24 Aug 1867, Fremont Co. IA. Carolyn Murphy's couple [see Queries Kittitas Home Page] came from IA in the 1870s and appears on the 1880 Census of Payette [Ada] Co., ID. Their children are Mary 10, Sarah 7 and Edward L. 5, all b. IA. We think it is that couple who then appears on the Kittitas 1900 Census, Swauk Precinct. John is 56 and Rebecca is 51, both b. IA. But this couple and the one below both have earlier MO roots. The same names, John A.. & Rebecca, appear on the Kittitas Co. 1885- 87-89 Territorial Census. There John and Rebecca are both 45 and b. IA. [The Rebeccas are the same age] Their children are Florence & Geo., both b. IA and Effa [Effie], b. KS. abt. 1881/82. Florence m. Geo. Eby Myers in Ellensburg 1 Jun 1891. their children were: John W., Jesse F., Francis M. & Thomas L. [See CleElum Pct.1900 Census, pg 89.]. John and Rebecca's eldest child was Etta May who m. Fred W Smith. I believe this is the same as the May (Wilson} Smith, listed under Births, on the Kittitas Home Page. Two of her five children are listed there, but only one of them, John Earl Smith has a given name listed. If there were two John & Rebeccas where did they die? What was the maiden name of the other Rebecca? What was both John's father's name?
