Hello listers, I was checking on some family members who lived on a dairy farm outside of CleElum, WA. Upon putting the family name, Bertolotti, first names Joe, Caterina, Hearold, in the 1920 Census, they are listed as being from Easton, Kittitas Co., WA. Where is Easton in regards to CleElum? On the 1930 Census, the surname is misspelled as Bertpllilli, but the first names come up as Burt, Catharena, Herald and Mable. Although I have never heard of Joe using the name of Burt (perhaps just a nickname), the other three names would be correct. But, there again is the town name, Easton, Kittitas Co., WA. Again, where is Easton in regards to CleElum. I used to write to them in the 1940's and later years, as well as visit with them at those times, but always mailed the correspondence to CleElum. Never heard of Easton prior to these Census Documents. Can anyone give me some information on the above? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Regards, Joseph R. Thank you so much for the information about Roland Low and such a quick response! I'm not sure if he belongs to the Low's I'm researching from Mason Co., IL, but certainly will keep on checking. Karen
I've lost track of Anson & Alice Low and hope somebody out there might have some information about them. Anson was born in Havana, Mason Co., IL, October 14, 1845. They had two known children: Corinne/Corene Low, (female), February 07, 1878 Carroll Anson Low, (male), November 07, 1879 Per Anson's half-sister's obit in 1914: Surviving Mrs. Wheeler are one son, Postmaster Loren Wheeler; five daughters, Mrs. T. Also two grandchildren, Isabelle Bradford and Waldo Leigh Wheeler, both of this city. Thank you, Karen Foster Montgomery

Good Evening Have a couple of questions I need answers for some research I am doing for a lady in the Mid-West! 1. If a person died near Ellensburg in 1897 - where would be burial probably be? I have looked in the IOOF - Ellensburg Cemetery. Am looking for the obit and burial location for Webster Lang - infant son of Paul and Francis (Ford) Lang who were married in Kittitas County in 1889. 2. Does the Genealogy Society in Ellensburg have an obit file? If so, is there an index? Thanks -- Have a good one Fred Pflugrath Peshastin, WA

I am seeking a news article concerning the death of Ellis Dean Olsen who died 20 May 1972 in Cle Elum, Washington. He died in a drowning accident. Thank you. Sandy Daltrey hotspurs@gwtc.net
I am seeking information about the family of John ERB, a former resident of Roslyn. He had a wife, Susannah (MERKLE?), and two sons, Wilber and Clifferd (note spelling) listed in the 1920 US Census. I understand that John died in 1921. In the 1930 US Census another three children are listed -- James, John, and Susannah -- with his widow as the head of household. Can anyone tell me something about John's ancestry, his employment in Kittitas County, or the disposition of the three youngest children? Thank you, Lee Bennett
Hi: I need to obtain a copy of my parents marriage licesnse, which was issued in late 1935 or early 1936. Where would I write, and what is the fee? Thanks, Bill Stewart
This is not an answer to your question but maybe an addition to your ancestor research. When I was a kid I remember there was an artist named CLYMER from the Ellensburg area. That is just a few miles from Cle Elum. It seems like they had some information on him either at the Ellensburg library or at their genealogy club. In fact I think that if you wrote the Chamber of Commerce there, they could direct you to information on him. Hope this helps you. donnahull4@cox.net Hunting season is all year long in Genealogy! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rosemary NATION" <rose@nation7.freeserve.co.uk> To: <WAKITTIT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, February 15, 2003 4:17 AM Subject: CLYMER - Perry and Marion - CLE ELUM > Looking for any information on Mr Perry W CLYMER and his wife Marion (nee NATION) CLYMER. > > An obituary for Marion's mother (Matilda NATION) said her daughter Mrs Marion CLYMER was living in Cle Elum. Has anyone had any luck finding anything with the info I sent? Please let me know if I can do anything to help. I would love to get copies of obituaries. Is there a good place to look up birth certificates. In IL they have IRAD ( http://www.niulib.niu.edu/reghist/irad.htm ). Is there something similar in Wa? Trudy - When you say Ronald is Mountain Presient is that another county? I looked on the rootsweb page that I used to sign up for this message board and didn't see it. Thanks! Again, the info that I have: Here is a link to some photos: http://www.paranormals.com/temp3/WASHINGTON/ There is a photo of the HALE family. The photo of the graves, I believe, is Mitchell HALE and Wynard STEELE in WA. There are also two scrap book pages listing men that I think are the ones that died in the coal mining disaster including Mitchell and Wynard. Unfortunately, there was not a date on the news clipping. I have other newspaper clippings and photos that I am in the process of scanning that may be interesting to people on this list. I will send them later. I am trying to figure out when they arrived in Washington. I was under the impression that they moved to Streator, IL and only a few members moved West but it seems like it might be the opposite. So anyway... HALE Thomas HALE - b. I just recently found out about Lew from a news clipping that talked about him being killed in Bement, WA, and referring to his brothers in Streator, IL.
Hello listers I am new to this list, so I want to send a short query to start. My BOSONE family lived in Roslyn. My grandfather Francesco BOSONE, grandmother Catterina (SANDRI) BOSONE, my father Giuseppe "Joe" BOSONE, my uncle Pietro "Pete" BOSONE lived in Roslyn, all of the male family members worked in the coal mines. My father was quite active in the UMWA, and was not very popular with the mine management, He was eventually blackballed from working in the Roslyn/CleElum mines. My grandfather left the family in 1911, and we do not know where he went. We can't find where he died, or what he did prior to his death after leaving Roslyn. My uncle Pete married Mary AVENATTI and stayed in Roslyn until his death, Pete and Mary had two children, Elinora and Frank. Elinora married William OZANICH and Frank married Dorothy OWENS. The other member of the family was my aunt Catterina (BOSONE) "Katie" BERTOLOTTI. She was married to Joe BERTOLOTTI and lived on a dairy farm out of CleElum. Joe and Katie had two children, Araldo "Herald" and Mabel. If anyone has any information on any of the above, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you very much. Joseph R. Hello, I am new to the list. I am searching for a Thomas McDevitt/ McDivitt and have found one that fits the criteria listed in the West Kittitas, Yakima census of 1880. He was listed as "lumberman" and in the household of Benjamin Wardwell ( assume he was a boarder) Can any one help me locate further info ? Thanks in advance, Maureen
