Hofling was walking with a friend, William Bergan, when the two men were stopped by a rough looking individual who shoved a revolver in Hofling's face. Hofling stuck at the footpad, but missed. The robber then hit Hofling on the head and ran after he had warned Bergan not to attempt to follow him. ========== The Seattle Times Friday, February 12, 1943 Page 26, Column 6 Funerals Bergan, Michael.
