Born August 15, 1926 in Covington, Kentucky, Keith was raised in Richmond, Virginia and ultimately graduated from the University of Virginia in 1949. From 1954 to 1956, Keith served as a civilian engineer in Seoul during the Korean War. He became a ham radio enthusiast, had a passion for car racing, boating, and was a member of the "Indy 500" Old-timer's Club as well as the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. Keith devoted much of his life to the aerospace industry. He worked on the Gemini B/Manned Orbital Laboratory Program at McDonnell Douglas, served as active liaison to NASA and the United States Department of Defense for the General Electric Co. in matters of systems engineering and, after relocating to the Seattle area in 1972, worked for The Boeing Company as an aerospace engineer and as chief systems troubleshooter for NASA's Sp! ace Shuttle orbital launch system. Keith is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brunhilde (Korn) Rogers of Federal Way; two sons, Keith A. Rogers, Jr. of Charlotte, North Carolina and Victor J. Rogers of San Antonio, Texas and two daughters, Karlyn (Rogers) Holt of Woodstock, Georgia and Kristina Rogers of Seattle, Washington. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Crump of Richmond, Virginia, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church at 2501 Southwest 320th, Federal Way, Washngton, on Friday, September 19, 2003 at 2PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Keith's name to the American Parkinson's Disease Association (APDA), 1250 Hylan Boulevard, Suite 4B, Staten Island, New York 10305.
