Hawkesworth. From Hydaberg he received a wire from Mr. Hansome, one of the teachers there, saying that his wife, who was also a teacher, had died en route from Hydaberg to the hospital at Ketchikan. The body was to have south on the Humboldt. The Hansomes were new teachers in the Indian service and had just started their first year in Alaska. They had secured equipment from the News-Miner at Ketchikan and started a Native publication at Hydaberg. Superintendent Hawkesworth spoke very well of the progress they had made in their work in that place. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
