Chittenden Clyde C. Chittenden, 92, a retired sawmill owner and longtime Lake city real estate man, died yesterday at his home, 14712 35th Avenue Northeast. He had been ill a month. Mr. Chittenden was a former owner of the Edgewater Lumber Co., an early mill on Lake Union. After coming to Seattle in 1908, he founded a logging firm that cleared much of the Lake City area. In recent years he had been engaged in real estate in Lake City. Before coming here, Mr. Chittenden was an attorney in Cadillac, Michigan. He served in the Michigan Senate 12 years and was a former Circuit Court Judge in that state. A native of New York, Mr. Chittenden was graduated from Hamilton College, Clinton, New York. After studying law there, he began practicing in Michigan. Mr. Chittenden is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Tracy E. Griffin and two sons, Ralph G. and Coy W. Chittenden, all of Seattle; a sister, Mrs. Ida L. Moore, East Lansing, Michigan and five grandchildren. His wife, Grace, died last November. Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock tomorrow in the Mittelstadt Lake City Chapel. Services Tuesday 4PM, Mittelstadt Lake City Funeral Home, 14828 Bothell Way. Cremation. ***** The Seattle Times Sunday, November 16, 1952 Mrs. Clyde Chittenden Funeral services for Mrs. Grace Guild Chittenden, 87, a resident of Seattle 46 years, will be held at 3 o'clock tomorrow in the Mittelstadt Lake City Chapel, followed by cremation. Mrs. Chittenden died Friday in a hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Ischua, New York and was married there 68 years ago. She came to Seattle from Michigan. She lived at 14712 35th Avenue Northeast. Surviving are her husband, Clyde C., 93 years old; a daughter, Mrs. Grace Griffen and two sons, Ralph G. and Coy W.
