He was 92. Mr. Plant was born September 18, 1910, in Kansas. He was a professional engineer and according to his family, the last of the true Renaissance men. He was equally at home quoting Shakespeare, building ham radios or sailing. He also attended college well into his 80s, was an amateur wrestler and boxer in college and was qualified for the United States Olympic tryouts in fencing. His wife, Heidrun, died in 1988. Survivors include his sons, David Plant of Seattle and Michael Plant of Carnation and one grandson. A celebration of his life will be held from 1-4PM Saturday, August 2, at 1822 9th Street West in Kirkland. For information, call 425-333-4332.
