Interment Evergreen Memorial Park. ========== The Seattle Times Saturday, November 12, 1949 Page 3, Column 2 Ramming of Truck Trailer Fatal Wrecked Auto Of Victor Burton, Who Was Killed In Crash The car was demolished when it struck a truck halted for a traffic light. Victor Burton, 37 years old, of 7741 Avenue Northwest, was injured fatally when his automobile struck the rear of a tank truck and trailer at Rainer Avenue and Dearborn Street at 8 o'clock last night. He died 45 minutes later at Harborview County Hospital. The death raised the toll of traffic deaths in 1949 to 82 in King County, 41 of which were inside Seattle. On this date last year there had been 99 deaths in King County, 47 inside the city. Patrolmen D.F. Mulivrana and A.D. Barker said Burton's machine, traveling at high speed, hit the rear of the truck driven by Chester Worgrum, 34, Ellensburg, which was stopped at a red light. Burton's car was demolished. ========== The Seattle Times Monday, May 14, 1949 Page 13, Column 5 Victor S. Burton Funeral Funeral services for Victor S. Burton, 37 years old, will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow in the Mittelstadt Mortuary, with burial in the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Washelli. Mr. Burton, 7741 17th Avenue Northwest, was injured fatally when his automobile struck the rear of a tank truck and trailer at Rainier Avenue and Dearborn Street Friday night. Mr. Burton, born in Twisp, Okanogan County, had lived in Seattle 30 years. He was a member of the Carpet & Linoleum Layer's Union, Local 1232. He was a Navy veteran of the Second World War. Surviving are his wife, Jean; a daughter, Arda Burton; his mother, Mrs. Florence Burton; his grandmother, Mrs. Anna Burton and his sister, Mrs. Vena Lewer, all of Seattle.
