Upshaw Funeral services for William Albert Upshaw, 54, of 1593 North West 90th Street were held today at Wiggen & Sons' Chapel. Mr. Upshaw, who operated a service station at Sixth Avenue West and West McGraw Street, died Monday in a hospital. He had served 22 years in the Navy, retiring in 1945 as a Chief Machinist's Mate. Born in Texas, Mr. Upshaw had lived here 16 years. He was a member of Queen Anne Lodge No. 242, F. & A.M.; the Fleet Reserve Association and Local 843, Operating & Stationary Engineers. Survivors are his wife, Nevel and two brothers, Woodrow, Seattle and James Upshaw, Dallas, Texas. Burial was in Washelli. ========== The Seattle Times Monday, December 27, 1965 Page 43, Column 7 Mrs. William A. Upshaw Funeral services for Mrs. Nevel B. Upshaw, 72, of 2423 Nob Hill Avenue North, will be at 1 o'clock Wednesday in the Wiggen & Sons Chapel. Burial will be in Washelli. Mrs. Upshaw died Friday in a nursing home. Born in Piedmont, Kansas, she came here from Los Angeles in 1934. A member of the First Methodist Church, she was a Past Matron of Seattle Chapter No. 95, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Upshaw's husband, William A., died in October 1962. Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Ollie K.
