Hello List: To clarify some of the information Tracy submitted to the list: 1. The Wash. Death Index on Ancestry runs from 1940 - 1996, but some of the names didn't make it to their database as I have found names in the microfilms that weren't in the database. 2. The Wash. Death Index is on microfilm from 1907 - 1979 and then there is a microfiche version which overlaps from the late 1960s to 1996. The microfilm version is available through the LDS Church and there are libraries that have it available for public use, also. 3. Some of the earlier date microfilms are definitely hard to read, but I find that most of the time I can manage to figure out the information. 4. The LDS Church microfilmed Wash. Death Certificates only for 1907-1960. After that we have no choice but to get them from the State or the County where the death occurred and they both charge the same; $17.00. Gloria Lester >>^. .^<<
