I have just begun to do these searches in Washington. For the life of me I can't find an official state site for this, even on Google. I've done a lot of research in IL and IN, where both have a state site. You put in the name of a person and it gives you all the possible hits for marriage, death, or whatever you're looking for. Then if something fits what you know, you can write for the relevant records. This is, obviously, invaluable. So far all I've found here is a site where you can buy records if you already know the date. This is useless if you don't have it yet. Perhaps I'm just too new to have found it. Can somebody help?
